About Day Veterinary Imaging and Consulting

Abdominal ultrasound (AUS) has become part of the diagnostic plan for many dogs and cats when standard diagnostics do not provide an answer or when the blood work or urinalysis presents an abnormality. Dr. Day will perform a complete abdominal ultrasound at your hospital based on the most recent guidelines set forth by the ACVR and European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) [Vet Radiol Ultrasound. 2022;63:661–674.] A personalized, written report will be provided the same day as the AUS is performed. Dr. Day will discuss the results directly with the owner, if preferred by the doctor who requested the ultrasound. There is unlimited phone follow up questions included after each exam. Training in ultrasound is also available.

There is great demand for echocardiograms in both dogs and cats, as a heart murmur is almost always a sign of a cardiac abnormality. Also, dogs or cats that have had the first episode of congestive heart failure (CHF) can have the diagnosis of the cause of CHF determined with an echocardiogram. Dr. Day will perform a complete echocardiogram at your hospital, including color doppler and all flow parameters, based on the IVUSS standard echocardiogram protocol. Dr. Day can provide a non-cardiologist review of the findings, or the veterinary clinic can send the images and the written report to a cardiologist of their choice. Dr. Day will discuss the results directly with the owner, if preferred by the doctor who requested the echocardiogram. There is unlimited phone follow up questions included after each exam.

Onsite anesthesia consultation for any aspect of anesthesia practice can be provided by Dr. Day. There is no limit on what can be covered, and each consulting package can be personalized to the needs of the veterinary clinic to include mini-lectures, lunch-and-learn sessions, review of anesthesia protocols, equipment review or a combination. Dr. Day can also provide anesthesia to higher risk patients, including geriatric patients requiring dental procedures (especially the complex techniques that require longer anesthesia time) and patients that fulfill the higher risk category for anesthesia for any procedure. A full, written report will be provided after the anesthetic procedure. There is unlimited phone follow up questions included after each consultation, procedure or presentation.

Phone anesthesia consultations are also available. Whether to double check an anesthetic protocol, request an anesthetic protocol or trouble shoot problems during an anesthetic event, Dr. Day can be available to help in any way. There is unlimited phone follow up questions included after each consultation.
